Tour itinerary:

Day 1: Chicken Village - Elephant Mountain - Paradise Lake:

This two days trip starts to the South of Dalat City.  We drive along picturesque scenic roads to the to the famous Chicken Village, aptly named due to the large chicken statue in the center of the township.  The women of this minority village are famous for weaving fabric in bright and interesting designs. After short time visit the village, we start our walking through their vegetable and flower farms to Elephant Mountain trailhead. The trek slightly heading up hill through the  valley until coming up to the ridgeline which you can enjoy seeing the small minority farms that dot the valley floor. Upon entrance the thick jungle section, you will walk along the ridgeline of Elephant Mountain, if you’re lucky, you may see a wild orchid in bloom or a troop of wild monkeys. Soon you will notice the dramatic change in scenery from thick jungle to pine.  Walk the rolling hills among the vines, broad-leaf trees, and enjoy the cool jungle breeze. We continue to walk through forest paths until we meet the base of Pinhatt.  Here you can take a short rest on the mountain-top to enjoy the marvelous view of the Paradise lake and Dalat city. You will be treated to a picnic lunch of fresh veggies and fruits, baguettes with an assortment of toppings and a French-style pastry to satisfy your sweet tooth. After lunch and a rest on the mountain-top, we descend and you will notice a very dramatic difference in the flora and fauna.  The valley you enter is no longer pine forest, but the jungle that Vietnam is so famous for. The destination of this day is at a campsite of near the Paradise lake where you can relax, fishing or take a swim until dinner. Overnight in the local bungalow near the shore of the lake.
 

Day 2: Paradise lake - Nao K'lang Mountain - Dalat City.

After breakfast, a short boat trip will take you to the other side of the lake, where we start our second day trek. The trail goes uphill gradually in pine forest until we get to the summit of 1,400 meters ridgeline. We walk along the ridgeline for about an hour or so, rolling along at whatever pace is comfortable. This section of trail wanders through broad leaf evergreen almost until we stop at a small clearing near the trail junction for a brief rest. After a brief rest we connect with the main ridgeline trail and head into the jungle. There is a noticeable change in the ecosystem, with the canopy above us and hidden birds singing to us as we trek. There is a wide variety of flora in this area ranging from towering hard wood trees hundreds of years old to delicate blooming flowers. As we work our way uphill we eventually come to a rather steep section that heads up to the summit of Nao K'lang peak 1,700 meters. The reward for this steep uphill climb is a fantastic view of the town and surrounding area, with stunning views of Langbian Mountain in the north. A picnic lunch offers you a chance to try some of the areas tasty produce. After lunch, the trail goes downhill and both sides of the trail are dotted with pine trees until you coming to the farming area where we meet our vehicle for a short 20 minute transfer back to town.
